X5 Group to launch small stores under brand Okolo soon

MOSCOW, Oct 6 (PRIME) -- Russian retailer X5 Group, managing chains Perekrestok, Pyaterochka and Chizhik, plans to launch a pilot project with smaller stores under åðó brand Okolo soon, Vladimir Salakhutdinov, director for strategy and development of the business of the group of companies, said on Friday.

"We are interested in working in this segment as well… We have a division called X5 for Business, where we will test a franchise model for small stores. We plan to launch a pilot project, the Okolo stores, in a few months," the executive said.

The stores will have a shopping area of 90–150 square meters.
